Extending Homeless Shelter in Dominica

What's the most interesting thing that you've seen God do?
One of mine was witnessing a number of prisoners getting baptized in a septic tank. Hang on.... before you get queasy the septic had never been used and had just been built.
Our team was finishing some of the final touches on The Grotto Home for the Homeless, and a handful of prisoners were working alongside us. During one of the breaks, we began to share the greatest news of God's love to these men and asked them if they would like to receive His forgiveness, love, grace and mercy. To which many did. Immediately they desired to follow up their decisions by being baptized. A request was made of the guards to allow them to go down to the Caribbean Ocean and be baptized but this was rejected. As we began to look for an alternative pool of water, we noticed the tanks had been filled with a few feet of water from the past days of rain. Problem solved!
Isn't it just like God to supply the answer before we even know we have a problem or a need?
Well, it's been a decade since the above event took place, and the capacity of the original homeless shelter isn't enough to handle the current need. So, we are headed back on June 3rd through the 11th to expand the current facilities. If you would like more information on the mission trip, please visit the event page or contact me directly at jimmccafferty@restorecaribbeanlives.org.
Maybe you can't join us on this trip, but you would like to participate in another way. You can do this making a donation. Click on the support us page to see how you can contribute.
Please remember the team in your prayers and come back in a few weeks to read the stories about the amazing things God did.
In His Grace,
Jim McCafferty
