The Chicks Have Arrived

1 min read

I never imagined I would be so thrilled to see 80 chickens before! These 80 chickens will help address a protein deficiency for the residents of the Grotto Home, a homeless shelter in Roseau, Dominica.

Last year, our team discovered that the Grotto Home residents were receiving less than 12 grams of protein per person each day. Tackling this severe issue became a rallying point for supporters of Restore Caribbean Lives. Thanks to your generous support, RCL was able to construct a large chicken coop and fill it with these initial chicks. In addition to these chickens, RCL has formed a partnership with local fishermen to broaden their protein options. The Grotto Home residents now consume over 100 grams of protein daily. Although this represents an 800% increase in their protein intake, there is still a gap in the recommended daily consumption. The plan to bridge this gap involves supplementing their diet with protein powders.

Thank you for your steadfast financial support. It has enabled RCL to complete the capital project of this long-term strategic plan. Completing this plan will require ongoing monthly supporters who will partner with RCL to purchase chicken feed and other protein sources for the homeless. Would you consider becoming a monthly sponsor? You can easily do this by clicking on the donate button, where you have the option to make regular contributions.

Once again, thank you for all your support and prayers. Together with you, we praise God for His blessings and the incredible ways He is manifesting in Dominica. By the way, we are returning from July 25 - August 1. Can you join us?
